Community Health During COVID

The pandemic has caused an overloaded 911 response system and crowded emergency rooms with long wait times in many cities. By taking a proactive approach to COVID testing and serving low-acuity patients in the community, Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District (Metro Fire) was able to reduce the burden on 911 response and provide comfort to patients who did not need to leave their homes.
