Webinar Description

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system in Sacramento County faces many of the same challenges experienced by healthcare organizations across the country, and the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is not alone in developing solutions to manage high EMS system utilizers, low acuity 9-1-1 calls and behavioral health incidents more effectively & efficiently. Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) appears to be a solution to the vexing problems faced by emergency services. The goal of Metro Fire’s Sacramento Mobile Integrated Health (SacMIH) pilot project was to build an adaptable and scalable program that could meet the diverse healthcare needs in our community. Because of the alliances and relationships fostered by SacMIH, the program was able to pivot to meet the challenges COVID-19 brought to Sacramento.
