In this presentation you will learn the methods to undertaking geocoding for a trauma registry, understand the common errors and how to overcome some of the issues you may face. You will see how this has impacted research, get some practical insight into one site’s example of geocoding and the impact it can make on trauma management in a local community.
About the Presenter
Clinical Nurse Consultant, Trauma Service Registry
With over 30 years of health care experience, currently the Clinical Nurse Consultant for the Trauma Registry at the Gold Coast University Hospital in Australia. Ben has presented at many local, national and international conferences and recently presented at the World Trauma Congress about Geocoding a Trauma Registry. Additionally, he is a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University, a Member of the National Trauma Research Institute, along with being committee member for a number of state and national trauma committees. A very early riser (helpful for the time difference), a single dad to a tween girl and studying for his PhD, he is currently striving get healthier and to run a part-marathon.
