Katie Arens

Katie Arens  |  Vice President of Customer Access  |  Life EMS Ambulance

Katie Arens serves as the Vice President of Customer Access at Life EMS Ambulance in West Michigan, where she is responsible for the daily oversight of all Dispatch, Revenue Cycle Management, and Mobile Health Solutions daily operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimum resource utilization metrics are met and maintained to provide high-quality service execution. She also oversees the organization’s Resource Performance and Reporting functions.

Katie has over eighteen years of experience in healthcare. Her knowledge and expertise encompass billing and coding, system compliance and performance, and RCM process innovation and execution. She received her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Ferris State University. Katie is a member of the American Ambulance Association ACE Faculty, founding advisor of Women in Emergency Services, serves as the current Chair for the American Ambulance Association Data Task Force Committee, and as the Vice-Chair for the Michigan Association of Ambulance Services Reimbursement Committee.

Katie was awarded the 2023 American Ambulance Association Distinguished Service Award for her dedication to providing education, support, and enrichment to EMS providers across the nation through her role as an Ambulance Cost Education faculty member. Recognized as one of Crain’s Grand Rapids 40 Under 40 for 2024, Arens is committed to improving patient care through advocacy and innovation in EMS.
