Access Critical Patient Health Information On-site

Access to critical patient health information in the field leads to informed care on-site. The new Patient Query functionality within ImageTrend’s Health Information Hub™ provides EMS agencies access to Carequality’s network of more than 600,000 care providers, 50,000 clinics and 2,000 hospitals nationwide, enhancing care, streamlining reporting and improving patient hand-off at the hospital.

The integration between ImageTrend’s HIH™ and Kno2 extends connectivity options to all EMS agencies using Elite™. Using patient demographics, search past medical history, including preexisting conditions, current medications, allergies and care plans while treating the patient. Better yet, pull search results directly into an ePCR with no manual data entry.

When populating patient information, preview and verify current medications, allergies and past medical history in Elite and import into an ePCR with easy-to-use select and deselect options as seen in the preview tile below.

The View Medical Record button located along the bottom of the preview tile above allows crews to quickly access additional critical patient information that may not have a designated location in an ePCR, and therefore, could be excluded. The Patient Query feature is easy for crews to use and gives EMS access to an extensive network of health information helping improve overall care in the field.

Connecting EMS to the Hospital and Community

Health Information Hub facilitates the bidirectional, automatic exchange of data to connect EMS with hospital EMRs, HIEs, outcome data, billing and registry information. Integrated solutions allow providers – from EMS to hospitals to trauma departments – to gain a perspective of the full spectrum of patient care.

Connected data opens the door to new possibilities in integrated healthcare. HIH delivers transaction efficiency of sending pre-hospital information directly to the hospital and enables EMS agencies to exchange data and transfer ePCR incidents with agencies using any NEMSIS Version 3 certified system, breaking down the software-specific barriers that previously prevented local and regional partners from sharing encounter data.

Flexible Exchange Methods

ImageTrend solutions include collaborating with leaders in interoperability to provide various exchange methods that may be required. Exchange methods include query lookup and automatic data exchange through Direct Messaging, web services, VPN, MLLP and more to send and recieve patient health information over a trusted healthcare network.

Elite’s Key Features

Fluid, Configurable Forms

Interoperability

View this short video on how ImageTrend achieves interoperability among the various industries the company serves.

In the above video, hear from Douglas Butler, Jr., Data Manager formerly of Coastal Valleys EMS Agency in California as he talks about how hospital integration works for them.

Doug is now the Director of Clinical Services at ImageTrend.

Case Study

The two worlds of EMS and hospital records generally speak two different languages – each based on their own national standards for documentation. However, achieving interoperability is faster and easier than you might imagine. Using technologies from ImageTrend and Kno2, Carilion Clinic, headquartered in Virginia, was able to get patients’ prehospital records into their Epic EMR electronically and realize several benefits. The transporting EMS agencies also benefitted in the process.

A Few Words from our Clients

Using HIH to automatically populate the EMR with details from EMS has been very helpful for us. By reducing personnel labor and the amount of paper used, we have been able to use the staff’s time more efficiently. The ER doctors have especially benefited, since they can quickly and easily view the prehospital data at the same time as triage notes before they work with a patient.”

-Aimee, ER Clinical Manager

I work with all of the hospitals, fire departments and EMS agencies in the county on a daily basis, and continually hear how easy it is at the hospital to access run reports, update records for billing and make the process smoother for physicians. I have only had a positive experience working with ImageTrend.”

– Barbara, EMS QI Coordinator
